Mussel shrimps, seed shrimps

One family

A superfamily of the Ostracoda. This superfamily features the last three pairs of legs all similar in shape and attitude but becoming progressively longer posteriorly, the antennules 6-segmented and bearing short bristles (never strong, claw-like spines), the carapace valves completely smooth, white to transparent, and carrying a rosette-shaped muscle scar. Eggs are brooded, and sometimes also the young.

There is only one family, DARWINULIDAE (Code OH0599999 , with a single genus, Darwinula.
