Very small (1.5 mm) interstitial isopods of elongate form. Not flattened. Eyeless. The anterior segments have the anterior margin straight, the remaining segments, including the telson, are more bead-like. There is only one visible abdominal segment. The uropods each comprise two cylindrical rami on a cylindrical protopodite.

This family is known from one inland locality some 30km from the southern Queensland coast - all other species are intertidal.
