The Eylaidae is a family of water mites in the superfamily Eylaoidea. It is represented in Australia by the genus Eylais(12 spp., Qld, NSW, Vic, Tas, and other records from the NT [HCP]).

Eylais spp. are very distinctive, being relatively large, bright red, soft-bodied, and displaying unique 'eye-glass' shaped eye lenses
