The Pionidae is a family of water mites in the superfamily Hygrobatoidea. In Australia there are four genera in three subfamilies.

The subfamily Huitfeldtiinae is represented by the genus Larri (1 sp., WA). Larri differs from other pionids by this combination of characters: three pairs of genital acetabula, no modifictions to legs III or IV of the male.

Larri inhabits the shallow margins of lakes.
