MideopsellinaeMM219999 The Mideopsidae is a family of water mites in the superfamily Arrenuroidea. In Australia there are five genera in four subfamilies. The subfamily Mideopsellinae is represented by two genera in Australia: Tillia (1 sp., WA) and Tiramideopsis (1 sp., WA). Mideopsellines can be differentiated from other mideopsids by their strongly uncate palps in which the palp tarsus is apposed to a ventral protrusion from the palp tibia. Mideopsellines are found in intersititial and cave habitats. References Cook, D.R. 1986. Water mites from Australia. Mem. Amer. Ent. Inst. 40: 1-568. Harvey, M.S. 1990.
