StygolimnocharinaeMM049999 The Piersigiidae is a family of water mites in the superfamily Eylaoidea. There are two subfamilies and two genera in Australia. The subfamily Stygolimnocharinae is represented by the genus Stygolimnochares (1 sp., Qld). It is easily separated from other Australian piersigiids by its elongate body and lack of lateral eyes.
