Code QH639999

Littoral, predatory, semi-aquatic bugs found most commonly in sandy stretches around the margin of slightly saline lakes. The juveniles occur either just under the surface of shallow water or else partially buried in sand, and grains of sand frequently adhere to their dorsal surfaces.

The antennae are small but usually just visible from above. The head somewhat pointed with the eyes set well back on the lateral margins. The labium reaches to at least the hind coxae. The pronotum is trapezoid and the scutellum somewhat convex and finely punctate. The legs are of normal proportions and not raptorial.
