Biology
Like Calliphora centralis, the carrion-breeding behaviour of Calliphora macleayi is uncertain. Females of this species carry large first-instar larvae, like other carrion breeding members of Paracalliphora (Wallman 2001).
Distribution
Calliphora macleayi is a rainforest-inhabiting species, found only in northern New South Wales and Queensland.
