The Phylum Arthropoda is extremely diverse, although all of the arthropods are united by having an exoskeleton, a segmented body and jointed appendages.

They are:

The Chelicerata, the arachnids, including the scorpions and spiders

The Crustacea, the crustaceans

The Hexapoda, the hexapods, including the insects

The Myriapoda, the myriapods, including the centipedes and millipedes
