Head - pubescence on the dorsal surface

The presence of setae

This character examines the distribution and abundance of setae on the dorsal surface of the head. Setae may be worn off in old specimens (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2). Setae may be the same colour as dorsal surface.

Character states

  1. Setae absent, or restricted to area between and behind eyes (Fig. 3A).

  2. Setae present throughout dorsal surface (Fig. 3B).

  3. Setae absent from midline of head (Fig. 3C).
