The mid tarsal claws are located at the end of the mid leg (Fig. 1).

The shapes of the mid tarsal claws

Symmetrical, generally curved and gradually attenuated to apex (Fig. 2A).

Asymmetric, one claw expanded in middle and abruptly constricted at apex to sharp tip, the other claw slender and curved (Fig. 2B).

Asymmetric, one claw deeply split at middle, the other slender and curved (Fig. 2C).
