Diagnostic features

Differs from all other species of tateid in the GAB (and in Australia) in having a prominent, flange-like keel on the periphery together with a low spire.

New taxa of Tateidae (Caenogastropoda, Truncatelloidea) from springs associated with the Great Artesian Basin and Einasleigh Uplands, Queensland, with the description of two related taxa from eastern coastal drainages. Type locality: In the main spring, Yowah Creek Springs, on Bundoona Station about 36 km NW of Eulo, SW Queensland. Lives in the very shallow spring outflow in coarse sediment.

Biology and ecology

Lives in clean, rather coarse sediment in a very shallow spring outflow which has well oxygenated, clean water and coarse sediment. Lives with E. spirula.

Distribution

Found only in one of the Yowah Creek Springs, on Bundoona Station about 36 km NW of Eulo, southwest Queensland.
