Diagnostic features

This tiny, loosely coiled shell, has a flat spire and weak to absent peripheral angulation. the operculum is circular and yellow brown or brown. The uncoiled shell is unique in described Australian tateids.

Original name: Eulodrobia spirula Ponder, Zhang, Hallan & Shea, 2019. In Ponder, W. F., Zhang, W. -H., Hallan, A., & Shea, M. E. (2019). New taxa of Tateidae (Caenogastropoda, Truncatelloidea) from springs associated with the Great Artesian Basin and Einasleigh Uplands, Queensland, with the description of two related taxa from eastern coastal drainages. Zootaxa 4583(1): 1-67.

Type locality: In the main spring, Yowah Creek Springs, on Bundoona Station about 36 km NW of Eulo, SW Queensland. Lives in the very shallow spring outflow in coarse sediment.

Biology and ecology

Lives in clean, rather coarse sediment in the very shallow outflow of a single spring. The water was clean and well oxygenated, and the sediment coarse. Lives with E. carinata.

Distribution

Found only in one of the Yowah Creek Springs, on Bundoona Station about 36 km NW of Eulo, southwest Queensland.
