Glacidorbis tasmanicus Ponder & Avern, 2000

Diagnostic features

This Tasmanian species is similar to G. hedleyi from mainland Australia, although with a pitted (as opposed to pustulose in G. hedleyi) protoconch. A weak dorsal ridge is sometimes present.

Biology and ecology

In small streams, springs and swamps, amongst moss, roots of water plants and similar substrates.

Distribution

North-eastern Tasmania and central plateau area.
