Annual forb to 50cm tall. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, 2.5-10cm long, 5-25mm wide, flat, hairy. Flowers tubular, with 5 lobes, pale yellow, closely crowded along one side of narrow spikes at the tops of the stems. Declared plant SA. Noxious weed Vic.
Differs from Amsinckia intermedia in that the flowers are pale yellow and the 'seeds' are brown to black, not or weakly transversely wrinkled, usually 2-2.5mm long.
