Introduced annual
forb to 1m tall. Basal rosette leaves to 20cm long, stem leaves alternating up the stems, 1-4cm long, 5-15mm wide, stiffly hairy, upper leaves with basal lobes and stem clasping. Flowers orange to orange-yellow, bell shaped, with 5 lobes, closely crowded along one side of narrow spikes at the tops of the stems. Declared plant in SA., but not recorded from SA. Noxious weed Vic.Differs from Amsinckia calycina in that the flowers are orange-yellow and the 'seeds' are grey to fawn, usually transversely wrinkled, usually 3-3.5mm long.
