Shrub to 3m tall. Leaves 1.5-4cm long, 10-30mm wide, flat, with a scaly sheen, margins entire or toothed, rarely slightly wavy. Flowers small (less than 3mm across), male and female flowers on different plants or on the same plant, in clusters forming interrupted panicles at the tops of the stems. Stems bearing male clusters usually bear a few female flowers towards their base. Female plants also have flower clusters arising from the bases of the leaves. Vulnerable Vic.
