Annual forb to 8cm tall. Leaves at the base of the plant, with a sheath at the base. Leaves 0.8-8cm long, less than 1mm wide, flattened, lax, hairless. 'Flowers' tiny (less than 3mm across), brown, in cylindrical heads of 3-7 'flowers' at the tops of the stems. Rare SA.
Differs from Centrolepis eremica and Centrolepis polygyna in that the leaves are soft, there are 3-7 'flowers' per head, and that the leaf like bract under each flower head is straight and about the same length as the flower head.
