Fern to 40cm tall.  Leaves clustered or scattered, 12-40cm long, 20-50mm wide, hairless or hairy, divided into segments which are again once- or twice-lobed, the edges of which are toothed and turned down. Family Adiantaceae in SA.

Differs from Cheilanthes austrotenuifolia in that the fronds are narrow and oblong, less than 5cm wide at the widest point.
