Diagnostic summary

  • What they do to plants

- larvae feed on the leaf blade causing large irregular holes or  may start feeding on the leaf edges eventually  eating the entire leaf blade, leaving only the petiole.

 

- younger larvae feed day and night while fully mature ones only feed during the night.

 

- voracious caterpillars which can defoliate the plant.

 

- leave frass near the infested plant part.

  • Found worldwide.
